Wolves Edge Milwaukee, 1-0, To Take 3-1 Series Lead

Wolves goaltender Peter Mannino (3-1) stopped all 28 shots he faced to collect his second shutout in four games this postseason. Each of the last three games in the series have been shutout decisions, with the Wolves collecting a 3-0 victory in Game 2 and Milwaukee (1-3) earning a 6-0 shutout in Game 3.

“It was a grind,” said Wolves Head Coach Don Lever. “Both teams tried to play a mistake-free game. I like the way we responded and showed our character.”

Chicago (3-1) broke a scoreless tie with the only tally of the game, 14 minutes into the second period when right wing Spencer Machacek spun around and flung a backhanded shot from the right face-off circle to beat Milwaukee goaltender Mark Dekanich.

Dekanich (1-3) posted 24 saves on 25 shots for the Admirals.

The Wolves will look to close out the series when they host Game 5 at the Allstate Arena on Wed., April 21 at 7 p.m.
